Couples Therapy
I enjoy working with couples to help them reestablish trust, communication, and intimacy. I have received training from The Gottman Institute, and utilize their approach, which is one of the few therapy methods that has proven to be successful with couples. I also pull from Sue Johnson's Emotion-Focused Therapy, especially when exploring long-standing patterns and dynamics.

My Approach
Session OneIn the first session, you'll each have time to talk more about the concerns you have within your relationship. I'll ask questions to better understand your level of connection and intimacy. I'll then encourage you to engage in an exercise that will allow me to observe how you resolve conflict within your relationship.

Session TwoThe second session will be scheduled separately - meaning, I will meet with each partner individually for about 45 minutes. I'll use this time to get a more in-depth understanding of each partner's perspective. Importantly, anything I learn in these sessions could be shared with the other partner. Secrets are not helpful in the process of couples counseling.

Session Three +After completing thorough assessment in the first two sessions, we'll all come back together so I can share some specific feedback regarding problematic areas and behaviors. We'll then identify a therapeutic plan and begin to focus on making positive changes using targeted techniques in session.
