New Clients (please read fully before requesting a consultation)

My Background & Focus:
My professional focus has been on trauma and interpersonal violence since 2012. My work in this areas has included individual therapy, violence prevention programming, trauma-informed trainings to organizations, and community advocacy. As such, my practice focuses specifically on working with people who are healing from trauma which looks different person-by-person.  If you are considering working with me, you might:
  • have a specific trauma or multiple traumas that you would like to process
  • be interested in understanding the impact that trauma has had on your life
  • want to explore how or why relationships are suffering because of past wounds/traumas
  • have a negative or "unhealthy" relationship with your body
  • have an eating disorder or engage in disordered eating behaviors

What to Expect:
It's important that we both feel as if we're a good fit for each other. I first gauge this based on your presenting concern (see above). Then, we collaboratively explore this in a phone consultation and a subsequent face-to-face intake. You can expect that I'll ask you throughout these experiences to share your reactions - whether you feel like I'm really understanding you and if you think my perspective matches what you're looking for.

You can also expect that I will encourage you to be proactive in our sessions, which starts by you identifying your own goals for therapy. Based on this - and how your goals evolve over time - I will help guide us in productive exploration and processing. I also find that therapy works best when we're both doing the work, which means that I often encourage my clients to come to session with some thoughts about what they want to focus on and/or what reflection they have done based on our previous work.
If you think we might work well together, please click the link below to schedule a 15-minute phone consultation.
Upon confirming your appointment, you will receive an email prompting you to complete a short questionnaire. This is required to complete before our consultation.
